A Flying Start

Many of you will be familiar with Brian Grimwood's work, a true heavyweight of illustration with an enviable artistic career. We've been enjoying his recent process exploring the possibilities that his pen flourishes can portray on an ipad. His latest portfolio  update has been a true delight to consider, with Brian's classic inky style paired alongside his progressive, more abstract digital work that find it's home in packaging and poster art.

Take a look  and enjoy!

Watcher in the Woods

Deanna Halsall is setting a spooky tone with her graphic poster of the 80's classic horrir, Watcher in The Woods for Lifetime Movies. We'll be adding this to the watch list, once we've gotten over the shock of all the black mirror episodes!

Into Action

It’s not the first time that Good Wives & Warriors have been commissioned for live art painting. Samsung employed the duo's expertise for the promotion of their latest model, Galaxy Note. The process involved an entire day filming whilst the duo created the wall painting they had designed and live drawn directly onto the phone. Impressive stuff!

Working Bro's

Juan and Alejandro Mingarro are the two talented & creative brothers behind Brosmind. Their solo exhibition “Working with a Brother” is a retrospective reflection on the importance of their fraternal bond and describes how the present work can be considered an extrapolation of their childhood creations.

Inception

There is something calming and hypnotic about Mario Wagner’s GIF - A smart droste effect which makes it hard to look away. His engaging work is pushing the boundaries of illustration into the realms of animation, with a smart budget too. We love that this can be used to illustrate an article in the same space as a still image might. Good work Mario!

Planet IX

Could a hidden planet be manipulating our solar system?

Mike Brown, a planetary scientist, advanced the theory of a 9th planet in the New Scientist. The richly textured & narrative art work of Darren Hopes sets the tone with a disturbing octoplanet for disturbing news.
